Why You Should Consider A Home Based Job Now

Setting multiple alarms, getting up early just to beat the traffic, spending a lot of money on fares, and losing hours of sleep? Sound like you? You’re not alone! These are just some of the struggles dealt with by almost every person who works a traditional 8-5 job. I know these all too well myself having worked a number of office jobs in Philippines.

As these things happen, time races forward and so does technology. This opened the doors to an alternative way of working which is working from home. Between an office job and a home based job, a home based job seems to be the most tantalizing doesn’t it? Still, remote jobs are often overlooked or completely avoided due to the stigma attached to it when there are actually a lot of benefits that can be associated with it. Here are some reasons why you should consider a home-based job now. Being a remote worker for over a year, I can attest to these following statements.

1. You can still achieve stability
Who says that home-based jobs are exclusive to freelancers? There are companies that offer full-time home based jobs with fixed hours and fixed pay like how a traditional office job does and that’s one way of achieving stability working from home. If you like to hustle and get a potentially higher pay then go for freelancing but if you’re after security then a full-time position would be a more lucrative option for you.

2.  Higher Pay
A lot of home based jobs come from foreign companies outsourcing labor from Philippines and the pay is usually in dollars which has a lot of buying power over Philippine peso. Additionally, there are clients or companies who are very generous with the salary rate because they don’t have expenses like lease.

3. More focused and productive
Yes, that’s right, more focused and productive. Working from home relieves you of distractions usually in the office. You’d also have a lot of spare energy to spend because you are not physically exhausted. Unlike working in the office, however, you are at risk of getting fired right away for poor performance and this is when you’d realize the value of your work and time management.

4. Travel more
This is probably one of the ultimate perks of working from home! You don’t have to be all cooped up in your room or a local co-working space. As long as you have a stable connection and a good laptop, you can be anywhere. You can see the world.

5. Be in control
Fixed hours or not, having a home based job allows you to control how you distribute your time in your daily routines. After work, you can simply do what you want to right away and not have to think about how long it’ll take you to get home or to meet a friend in that nice restaurant you always wanted to try. Time no longer manages you - you manage the time.

Graphic design, web design, programming, writing or even just administrative tasks, no matter what you specialize in, chances are, there’s something for you in the digital world! So get your gear and surf for some careers!
